From the quantity of images we’ve seen, Draper often composed his photos as a kind of picture within a picture, using the language and/or imagery of nearby signage to comment, or create double-meaning, within his photographs. “Spooks” is a prime example of that… though you’ll see some other strong usage of this device to come.
